When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
We also use analytics and marketing cookies to understand website traffic, improve performance, and personalize your experience. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Information collected through forms
When you submit a contact form, vendor application, sponsorship inquiry, or event registration form, we collect the information you provide—such as your name, email address, phone number, and message—so that we can respond to your inquiry or process your request.
Form submissions may be stored in our website database and/or sent to our team via email. We do not share this information with third parties except as necessary to provide the requested service or comply with legal obligations.
Event registration, payments, and ticketing
If you register for an event, purchase a ticket, or make a donation, your payment information is processed securely by our third-party payment processors (such as Square, Stripe, or Eventbrite). Baldie Con does not store your complete credit card information.
We may collect basic details needed to complete your transaction, such as your name, billing address, and email. This data is used solely for order fulfillment, communication, and recordkeeping.
For detailed information about ticket purchases, refunds, cancellations, and event-specific policies, please review our Registration Policy.
Photo, video, and media release
By attending any Baldie Con event, you acknowledge and agree that photography, audio, and video recording may occur. You grant Baldie Con Inc., its affiliates, sponsors, partners, and media representatives the irrevocable right to use, reproduce, and publish your image, voice, or likeness in any medium—including photos, videos, digital media, and printed materials—for promotional, educational, and commercial purposes, without compensation or further approval.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify event staff in advance or avoid areas where filming or photography is taking place.
Who we share your data with
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our website, process payments, send email communications, manage event logistics, or provide marketing and analytics services. These third parties are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes we specify.
We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
Data collected through contact forms, event registrations, or other submissions may be retained for recordkeeping, legal compliance, and to improve our services.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments or submitted forms on our website, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes (such as event attendance records, financial transactions, or legal compliance).
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
